The formation of our children is first and foremost the responsibility of the parents, and is something that needs to be modeled in our homes. Thankfully, however, the Church has made it possible for parents to work alongside the greater Catholic community in helping shape the Church’s youngest members.
Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Vancouver, as a faith community, are committed to excellence in Catholicity and in all areas that promote the development of the whole child to his or her full potential.
St. Pius X Elementary is a Catholic elementary school located in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. We are one of forty elementary schools which operate under the administrators of the Catholic Independent Schools of the Vancouver Archdiocese (CISVA). We have students from Kindergarten to Grade 7.
St. Pius X Elementary school is first and foremost a Catholic school. The rationale for the school's existence lies primarily in its ability to form and inform its students in the Catholic way of knowing Christ, loving Christ and living Christ, thereby encouraging each and every child to live a life based on empathy and understanding of others.
Parents, teachers and priests share the responsibility of providing the opportunities and atmosphere in which each child is encouraged to attain their full potential spiritually, academically and physically.
St. Pius X Elementary School welcomes families of all faith backgrounds. For more information please visit the school's website: www.saintpius.ca.
St. Thomas Aquinas Regional Secondary School is a Catholic, coeducational, independent school for approximately 600 students in grades eight through twelve. STA, as it is commonly referred to, is the only Catholic high school serving the North Shore community.
STA prides itself on offering an educational program based on creative, independent doing and thinking. Based on the school motto, “Dirige me in veritate tua”, or translated into English, “Direct me in Your truth”, the school’s mission is to build tomorrow’s leaders, today. To help students and their families face the challenges our world gives us, STA focuses on educating the “whole person”; academically, spiritually, physically, emotionally and socially. Highlights of the school include:
Students are organized by grade into four or five divisions. These groupings allow for close-knit, and nurturing environments able to serve the needs and interests of all students. Each division provides students with a comfortable, supportive atmosphere in which to learn and thrive.
